We were almost at the corner with Sussex Street, when the bus came to a halt next to Darling Harbour. The lady in the floral dress next to me suddenly stood up. Tourist I thought, smirking in my head. Gawking at our beautiful harbour shining in the late afternoon summer sun. I pretended not to see her of course and continued to gaze at nothing ahead. Then, as the seconds passed, and the bus didn't move, and she didn't sit back down, I couldn't help myself. I looked up at her face, and as if waiting for this moment, she said to me with the smile of a child, "I'm looking at the duck."

Hahahaha! That's the one that was on our news up here in Canada the other night! Too funny. I wish they'd put one of those in our little bay - I would smile every time I saw it.
Rubber ducky, you're the one....you make bathtime lots of fun....Rubber ducky, I'm awfully fond of you.....
I had quite a start when I turned round and saw its head. It was BIG, as you can see in the second shot.
Rubber ducky you're the one... :D when do i get a pebble?
When you've been good, MS OON :)
My Grandkids have an exact miniature replica of that duck! They float it down our stream in the summer. I like the part about the floral dress - in my town it would be a fur coat. Sure to be a tourist! Darn -now I'll be humming that Ducky song in my sleep!
Jean cracks me up :)) and, I love your little stones typist!
So now I have to go and look up "The Duck" to find out why he is in your bay. I am really likeing this small stone challenge.

I'm going to update this post now :)
This is like living in a magical land.
Fantastic small stones writing, Typist! There is a great Harper's magazine rubber ducky article that the Typist might enjoy. (Well, it's rather long, but it is all about rubber duckies.)
Wag on, and thanks for your sweet note on our pet blogger challenge post (or did I wag for you -- thank you -- already?).
Love,
Tootsie

Love the rubber ducky song! I haven't thought about it for decades but it came right back as if it was yesterday.
The Halifax Harbour needs a giant rubber duck, I think. I am going to suggest it to municipal council right now.
I'm wondering if my dogs would chase it or be freaked out.
Yups, they had this on the news here in California, too! Very cool if you ask me! I would love to jump in and try and pop it!! Airedale 'Jaws of Death'!!! BOL

Ruby
