Postcard from Brisbane: fishing and a booboo.

By the time we came home from fishing at Nudgee beach, it was past 9.
The Typist was sure she'd catch some nice fat fish for dinner. She made Cushion buy her a new fishing rod. She checked the tide times. She made Uncle E bring the big eskee so she wouldn't run out of space for her fish.

Boy! Was she wrong! She caught a big fat nothing, and we all came home hungry and tired and had leftover curry instead. (Not me, I had beef with pumpkin, sweet potato and lentil mash.)

It was beautiful there though.

 "Is this boring or what?"

From L to R: Me, Uncle E, The Typist, Cushion

Did anyone spot the booboo? It was The Typist's fault [of course].

I can't spot a booboo, but I do like the new photo at the top, the one with you in a pink hat!

We didn't spot a boo boo, but then we were so envious of your sun and light and warmth to see much else.

Didn't see the booboo, Georgia. She didn't take you to get threaded with fishing line did she?? The beach there is beautiful and that moonrise! Wowzers!! Hope you're having fun!

You're home! :D I discovered it wasn't my fault today. It was "technical failure". Big hint? x

Sorry The Typist didn't catch any fish. Sounds like she knows what's she'd doing though...at least with equipment and optimism. So glad you all had such a lovely time. Nice way to usher in the new year.

Is the boo-boo the hair on the camera lens? It looks like it could be of the typist variety!

I can't believe all those jellyfish! EEK!

CHANDRA, you are a star! Very observant indeed. It was something, maybe not my hair which is considerably longer. We thought we'd gotten rid of it but yesterday, while taking pics on a ferry ride...lo and behold, it popped back up again. Now, we all thought it was my fault naturally, but it turns out it's a common problem with our new toy. As I type this, Cushion has gone off to a cam shop to try to get it fixed. Otherwise, it'll be spotty hairy pics from here on :( I wish I'd thought of offering a prize for being a smarty!

LOTS of jellyfish here. In Redcliffe, alive. In Nudgee, all dead.

Aww no fair, no fair - I noticed the mark on the lens but thought the booboo couldn't possibly be that - had to be something REALLY awesome...

I didn't see a booboo. I'll have to read the comments later and see what it was. My favorite picture is the one of the moon. Beautiful!

Well I wasn't such a smarty on New Year's Day ... after the Rose Parade, the other half (he does have a name but I don't use it in the blogosphere - a cue I picked up from you Miss Private Typist!) and I stopped into a bar instead of joining the car traffic.

I ordered a mimosa, he ordered a bloody mary, which arrived with a beef stick garnish! At first I though it was the ugliest jalapeno I'd ever seen but then I squealed and he plucked it out of his glass. The other half is a vegetarian and a rather tough one at that - he muttered that the vodka and the beef stick's "shell" certainly protected his beverage from the meat and proceeded to drink it. What I did not spy in his drink was the very long hair that two seconds later ended up in his mouth.

Retch!

Hope the camera got fixed!

Double barf! Listerine when you got home?

The cam is better! But we now have to be super careful when changing lenses which is why I probably never will ;)
