Oh oh.

Dear Laura Ingles,

I'm going to keep this short.

Regarding your letter of complaint, I have met with your humans. They seem perfectly nice and no more unhinged than the average petowner. Your Typist offered me some homemade chocolate cake which was very good, so it's entirely possible she might have been able to bake you That Cake.

They also showed me photos of your birthday weekend. Despite the bad weather, your out-at-work human took you to Centennial Park on Sunday. You say you didn't get to meet your bestest friends. It looks to me like you made a few new ones though.
 You met a potential new boyfriend, Bertie.
I do hope you're spayed, Ms Ingles.
You also took part in a conga line.

Finally, Your Typist tells me you received quite a few well wishes from friends, including these spiffy ones -

Ms Ingles, you are obviously not unloved or neglected. I now consider this case closed. I would appreciate it if you do not bother me again with such trivial matters. I do Very Important Work here.

My Typist's Best Chocolate Cake In The World Even If She Says So Herself How Would I Know, I'm Not Allowed Chocolate.
1 and 1/2 blocks good quality DARK chocolate, gently melted down
125gm butter, softened
1 cup fine brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly whisked
1 cup plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda - sifted together
1 cup sour cream - if very thick, may be diluted with a splash of milk
1 generous tsp pure cocoa powder
1 generous tsp dark coffee granules
1 light tsp salt plus another tsp of sea salt crystals
1 tsp vanilla essence
2-3 generous tbsps frozen raspberries

Preheat oven to 180degreesC. Combine all ingredients well in big bowl. Add frozen raspberries last and fold in. Pour mixture into lightly greased baking tin. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until done.

Tastes even better the next day! Keeps well in fridge for few days.

Oh dear, Georgia! I can't believe the ASPCA was fooled by a slice of that cake *wipes some of Mom's drool off the keyboard* and some sweet words! Humans! They always stick together. What we really need is a canine division to investigate these claims. I'm sure if we had one, it would give our claims a lot more validity!

That little get together you had at the park does look lovely, though!

Oh Georgia, you do make me smile! I'm glad you got to go to the park, and I hope you didn't get into too much trouble over your letter to the SPCA. As for the chocolate cake, does your at-home human ever make you liver brownies? I have a recipe I will send you if you like - they are Sadie and Charley's favourite treat, next to dehydrated liver itself. Jean

Georgia. Sadie here. Liver brownies may be our favrit treat but our mama doesn't bake so we only gets them when Nice Kind Friends make them. So don't let her fool ya - she's as neglectful as yer two-leggeds are. She totally forgot MY 'gotcha day' this year, until about a week or more later. She keeps sayin' she's gonna bake me some liver brownies to make up fer it, but that'll be the day.

That cake looks amazing!! Though you are cruel to share a photo in the middle of the day when I both without chocolate and without cake. Poor me. :-(

Poor Georgia. If the SPCA won't help her, who will?

Looks like she didn't give us the full story. Sneaky puppy.

Just catching up on your posts. First of all, Happy Birthday to Georgia, if my calculations are correct, her and Brianna have the same birthday! Cool concidence, if you ask me!
Second, I love the look of that chocolate cake, I sure hope the little princess appreciated the effort.
Thirdly, I'm happy to indulge into your Georgia photo overload. Thanks a bunch, I wish it was her birthday all the time :)

@Bunny - I know you are WAY ahead of me in training humans. Please let me know when you have the canine division organised. I will sign up for sure.

@Sadie - I'm so sorry to hear that. And your human sounds so lovely too. You can never tell.

I have a recipe for liver cake/biscuit/brownie too. Remember? It's quite yum. If yours is different, please do send it over. You never know, My Chef might feel industrious again the next time the moon turns blue.

Oooo and THANKS again for the lovely mooo-ving card. It's my first one EVA!

It sounded like you still had a nice birthday (although no cake and all pap can make a doggie very blue).

That cake looks yummy, I'd be sure to try it one day (when I find some raspberries available).

@Peggy - She is The Queen Of Pathetic and it works almost every time. Master manipulator!

@mylittledog - it does sound like they have the same birthday. Double celebration next year? I am overboard with pics now that I've upgraded my picasa web storage and don't have to be so selective anymore. Haha! Sorry!

@Lavi - use frozen raspberries. I've actually never used fresh ones before, don't know how that would work. DO NOT THAW before using. If you really do try the recipe, please let me know how it turns out! Lots of people have asked for it over the years. I've never shared it before because it's one of the very few things I can bring to the table at parties. God knows what I'm going to bring now :p

@Jan - actually, I really appreciate CCTV! Yay London! With all the crime and random attacks on people here in Sydney, I'd rather be surveilled than let the
crims get away. Sad necessity.

Also, even though we don't read baking blogs, we really like the ingredients in your mom's cake - chocolate and rasperries were made for each other. Just like pap and, er, pap!
