My 1st proper report from holidaycamp.

This happened yesterday.

We got up late because the alarm clock didn't go off. Apparently this is what you do on a holiday.
It was cold.
I asked politely if I could go up on the bed for a cuddle. The humans said, "No Georgia. Not here. You don't want to get the bed dirty,"

My humans are way too conscientious and responsible for my liking.
Luckily, the sun came out.

*

It was such a beautiful morning, I had to get my humans to take me to the beach right away!
We went out the back door to walk to the beach. The path was not so big. It was dark and bushy.
I was afraid I'd get lost so I peed everywhere.
Finally we arrived!
The ocean and beach went on forever! At that very moment, I realised what a tiny speck I was in the whole universe  and scheme of things and stuff like that. I felt small and helpless.

Here is a picture of me having an existential crisis.
The crisis didn't last so long.
Despite it being a nice sunny morning, all The Typist's pictures turned out orange.
Or black.

Doesn't it look like we had an eclipse?
After a good walk, it was time to go back for brekkie. The salt air has been making me really hungry! I heard The Typist telling My Cushion that maybe she didn't bring enough food for me. She'll be in so much trouble if that's true.

Here's a picture of the house where we're staying, taken from the beach.
See what I mean about the path? We got lost 2 times because My Cushion couldn't find the right one to take.

*

We didn't do much in the arvo. The Typist found a pig under the kitchen sink.
It was a good thing I was there to defend everyone. That pig won't be hurting anyone now.

My Cushion cleared the heater so we could have some fire at night when it gets cold. It was filthy!

[Sadly, despite all his hard work, the wood still wouldn't burn when he lit it last night. Don't worry. I have my jammies and blankie with me.]

My Typist also took some horrible pictures of me and insists on showing you one.
One day, she'll regret making fun of me like that.

*

This is our neighbour Arkie! He's on holiday too! I met him during our evening walk. It was good to see another dog on the beach. There's only so much human company I can take without going mad.
We had a good game and might meet up again today.
It was a lovely end to my first day at holidaycamp.
Wish you were here!

STAY TUNED for some real time pictures and vids from my holiday! [If The Typist can get her act together.] Hooroo! : ) x

This looks like heaven! Recently, I was dreaming what it would be like to take a long vacation with no obligations. Your lovely, peaceful pictures are making my mind wander in that direction again.

Dear Bart and Ruby - I can be deep. Hmmm.. I wonder what's for dinner tonight.

Dear Lori - I hope your dream comes true soon. It's very enjoyable to be on a holiday. Just make sure you bring enough food.

Wow Georgia, that is the best post and We love all the pictures even the orange and black ones. We think they are moody shots.

I can't beleive you have that whole ocean to play in and that cool path to your house.

It looks just wonderful.

Your hoomans could scoot over... i am sure there's enough space for all three of you on the bed. If that don't work... you can tell them that you are a furry heater.

glad you guys are having a great time at the beach house. The beach is like endless... i bet there are some roos or fairies hiding in them thick bushes...

i think i might have a problem matching this... :O

Oh, Ms GLP! You are at a Place of Noisy Water, then? Here is my #1 tip from last Christmas when we did the same:

1. Eat anything remotely nasty on the beach. You'll sleep like a dream, but The Typist and Cushion will be all night wondering what your gurgling tummy means.

Beauty.

Oh how I love the beach! It looks like a beautiful spot, and it's so nice that you found such a cute playmate! Hope you enjoy your holiday :)

BOL, oh Little Pea, I should not laugh, but I just adore that silly picture. How precious are you?!

georgia little pea said...

Dear Ms Oon - I can't believe you'll have a problem at all! Lucky for you My Typist is now sleepy or she'd be posting again. She's determind to bore everyone with my holiday.

Dear Kol - I am very precious.

Oops. Was that a rhetorical question?

GLP, I know that that looks like a fun holiday camp, but I suspect it might be the sort where you still get a bath. Just warning you. BTW, we are very impressed by your vocabulary. Well, Fergus, Flo and I are. George just went a bit cross-eyed and fell over.

What a wonderful place. We love the beach as well. Have a great time!

Dear Flo,

I've been working on my vocabulary for 2 years. It's quite nice to be able to say something other than "poop!" and "YAY!" sometimes. Apologies if my words resulted in George losing traction.

BTW, I haven't had a bath yet! Just hosedowns! YAY!

Blimey that looks brilliant mate! Is your new pal a Greyhound? When we went on a break last year, it was unexpectedly warm, but as Mum has specifically booked a cottage with a log burner, she insisted on using it. Mums put on shorts and t-shirts, opened all the windows and we had a roaring fire! Humans are stoopid! Deccy x

Ms Pea, lucky girl you're on holiday and you've taken the Typist for nourishment purposes and the cushion for comfort, clever girl. Loved your pretty pics, better than I'm doing, I'm trying to get a post done (not succeeding and using a MAC!!!) Eeeek.

Dear Declan, My Cushion is at this very moment still working on the fire. It's started to burn finally but guess what? My Typist who is SO cold and insisted on the fire, has got all the doors and windows open because she can't stand the smell of the smoke. Do we have an intelligence problem here, you think?

Arkie is a whippet!

Welcome back Rose! Miss you! Are you still basking in the northern sunshine? A Mac ...eeeek indeed. Gave that up yonks ago. How about you go to an Internet cafe? :)

Hey G Little Pea, hope you have a fab time on your holidays. The beach looks lovely.

Tell your humans another great spot for doggy holidays is Avoca Beach - more than 2 dogs on that beach :)

Have a great time

So glad to see you found a canine companion on your holiday. I was worried that the only way another dog would stop to visit was if he had a boat.

As for your morning cuddle--do you mean to tell me that in all those boxes there's not one old sheet to put down on the bed? I understand there are some crazy people out there who don't like dog hair sticking to their face when they sleep. Sometimes you just have to allow for insanity.

Make sure your Cushion and Typist take the appropriate gear for the next holiday trip so you can have your rightful place on the bed in the morning.

Glad to be joining you vicariously on your vacation and not just on the existential crisis. :)

Oh my, it looks like you're staying in such a lovely place!! In this region of the planet it's very rainy and drizzly. Thankfully it's warmed up though! We were stuck around 0°C - 4°C all last week!

I think the photos are so lovely. Your typist did a wonderful job.

georgia little pea said...

Dear Pamela - we welcome people who live vicariously. As you may have gathered, The Typist does this too.

NOTE from Typist - Shhh about the sheet.

Dear PennyPup - 0-4? Why do you live there?! We're shivering in our uggies and sweaters here and it's probably around 18.

What a great holidaycamp and now that you peed on it, it should be all yours. We didn't know dogs could go all existential, but it's good to know the next time we get to go to the ocean. We were worried about you stuck with only humans all the time. It's easy to lose your doggie roots when that happens.

Wait you are on holiday but no bed snuggles allowed? What kind of holiday is that???

Stop on by for a visit

Ain't it PATHETIC Kari? I have a feeling it's not MY holiday at all.

Ever since I read your post, Ms. Georgia, I have been bugging my parental units to take me to holidaycamp. Mom says they take me lots of places, and we aren't going to holidaycamp. Dad does not understand what holidaycamp means. I tried to explain that it's a place with orange sky overlay.

But I'm concerned about this no bed snuggle rule at holidaycamp. That rule should be broken immediately. I hope it has already been broken. Jump up!

Love and admiration,
Tootsie

Dear Tootsie, The Typist just caught me up on the couch with My Cushion. Hahaha! You should have seen her face.

Great photos, Georgia!
Looks you all have been a great time at the beach.
I would love to be there with you, dear Georgia.
Enjoy!

Having the whole beach to yourself is human's dream come true, GLP, but having someone to play with on the beach is a dog's dream come true so that's fabulous that Arkie showed up! This holidaycamp is off to a great start, GLP!
