A message from the cosmos.

After 3 and a 1/2 months without my good friends, Endorphin and Serotonin, I went back to training last night.

It wasn't easy getting to class.

First, Spring deserted us yesterday and the temperature plummeted down to 18. Yeah, you northern hemisphere people, that's cold for us.

Then the wind started and blew down the beautiful old orchid plant I showed you last week. I hope it survives.

4 o'clock rolled round. Just as I was about to set off for my bus, it started to rain. I don't know where our council rates go to but it's not to building bus stops. There is none where I wait patiently for my bus to the city that may or may not turn up.

Finally arriving in the city, I made a not-so-quick stop at Abbey's to look for a Spanish diccionario, then stepped out into the wet for the 15 minute walk to class. Past sad faces and goosebumpy bodies unprepared for this weather after weeks of glorious sunshine. Past twisted umbrellas tossed by irate owners.

At the intersection near my academy, a strong gust of wind suddenly blew up and stopped me in my tracks. Literally. Stopped. Me. I. Could. Not. Move.

I arrived at the academy, hallelujah! pushed the button for 3, said "Oi, tudo bem?" to my mestre at the reception, and got to the change room just in time to hear the skies split open.

My mob buzzed. It was a text from Cushion and here's what it said.

Do you think the cosmos is trying to tell me something?

I haven't yet ventured into our little yard but I suspect there may be some cleaning to do today.

And yes, my knees are hurting.

Um...hehehehehe...trying not to laugh....I'm sorry......yesterday was such a beautiful day here....the temperature probably even got UP to 18....and it was sunny. Eddie and I went to the beach. Okay, we go to the beach every day, but this was the park with the long trail down to the secluded beach.
I hope your spring returns soon. Our winter is coming on much too fast - today it feels cold enough to snow.

Um, maybe a message to stay home next time until the sun comes out...

Make it stop. (Stomps foot and pouts -- adorably I might add.) I'm living vicariously through you as the dank winter descends in Bermtopia.

I'm happy for you that you're back training, just sorry that the experience of getting there was so exhausting. I know you'll take care of your knees.

Ah Typist, the wind and the cosmos combined were trying to tell you not to go this class of yours where you flail your legs, hurt your knees and fall victim to black eyes and, where dangers lurk waiting to catch you unawares Typist ;)
I'VE HAD THE FIRE GOING ALL DAY UP HERE TODAY............

Be kind to your knees!
Iwas reading your pot, with Billy the cat finishing my yoghourt on my lap. You should have seen him jump away as I started your video. He is confused to hear but not feel the hail. Poor thing.

OK now I've stopped being jealous of your spring while we have a long winter ahead. Don't you love the way nature lures into harmony and then knocks you on your keester?

OMG!- don't you just love the life??? Glad to hear you're back to training. Take it easy. We are having the most beautiful autuum here in Germany, but who knows- there might be a hailstorm lurking around the corner...Life is Capoeira, Capoeira is life- right;)

My mom is inspired. She needs to meet your good friends and get up off the chair. She needs to stop that ass lag, which she thought was a part of jet lag but which turns out to be a rather permanent condition!

You always make me wag.

Lydia! I can't believe you read this. Didn't even know you were in Germany. For keeps? It's been that long. Keep calm and ginga! ;) X

18C is 64F in my world, and these days I'm deeeelighted to see a forecast of 64! It will get a lot worse before it gets better, I fear.
Good for you for getting out through all the difficulties to your exercise palace. It's the lower than 18C (64F) temperatures that are cramping my style. And the dark.
I bet you'll feel great once your knees readjust!

Hail is so cool though! We were driving through the mountains last summer and there was a big storm with hail. Anyway, here's to brighter days ahead.

Well the good news is you didn't get caught in the hail!!

It's hard for me to have sympathy for you and your 18 degrees but I will try. Hail certainly isn't very nice, especially when you take the bus. That I have sympathy for. The bus stop by my house doesn't have a shelter either and I am not looking forward to a winter of hanging out in the cold before I go to work.

Hopefully this was just a minor blip!

Puddles, that's a hoot! I wish I'd thought to name my friends. That would make me sound much less like an addict LOL.

We barely broke 10°C here today.. but you know what.. I think that awful weather headed in your direction, because here in Canada, we're expecting 20°C and SUNNY weather on Friday! (Sadly we have to put up with 10°C tomorrow but then up to 16°C on Thurs)
Unheard of this time of year! Thank-you Oz for your trade in weather patterns. XD

BAH! anyway, an update! Our weather got good again yesterday despite predictions of more grey skies. It is now blazing hot again and supposed to stay that way for the rest of the week. YES! :D

Ahh - the joy of exercise. I ran/walked 4 miles early this AM. I don't set any speed records, but for an old lady - not too shabby. Tonight the forecast is for snow. We need the moisture badly but I'll be sleeping in tomorrow if the white stuff covers the ground.

It has been in the 50's in Oregon . .winter is here!! Hope you had fun at your class - be kind to your knees :)

Whoa, that's some pretty serious hail! Tomorrow it's supposed to he 18C in Toronto which will probably be the last nice day for awhile.

chandra said...

Wow, that is some serious hail! I hope the orchid and your water features are okay. You know how I love those water features!

And now it's hot again?! Sounds like my environs as of late: The rains have started in Portland and it's grey all day while in LA there's not a cloud in the blue blue sky.

18? 18 AND YOU'RE UPSET?! I'm *trying* to be sympathetic, but it's awfully hard typist. Mama has that lag problem too. Finally I put my paw down and told her it's back to the gym on Monday. No more excuses. No more.
