A 10am update that supercedes the now deleted 3am update.

Let it be known, your honour, that somewhere in Sydney, Australia, a suburban housewife is very sleepy, crabby at Blogger and about to do dangerous bodily harm by plucking out her own hair.

I made a huge mistake in yesterday's important post with this caption -

2 daily meals of raw and cooked bones, offal and meat, kibble [currently Canidae], rice and greens.

Did you spot it?

I must have proof read it at least, oh, 5 times before publishing and yet I missed it.

Lucky for me, Jean [despite often being sleepless, having to wipe 12 muddy critter paws in the middle of the night] was sharp.

Last night at 3am, I hastily tumbled downstairs after seeing her comment picking out the mistake, to correct the post.

Why the haste?

It wasn;t just a typo eror, or even an silly grammatical one.

No, it was a mistake that should not have been made, in all places, on a post about what bones to give your dog. I HAD to immediately change it.

And all would have been well and I would be having a lovely crispy bacon and egg sangy for Sunday brekkie now instead of typing this - if it wasn't for the fact that Blogger wouldn't let me make the correction.

Every time I tried to re-publish the corrected post, the paragraphs would come out scrambled like eggs. Tossed about like a salad. Incomprehensible, in short.

I don't know what's going on with Blogger these days but I might just save that particular rant for another rainy day.

So I did the only thing I could. I wrote a new post correcting the mistake and published it at 3.30 am.

This morning, after I read my 3.30am post, I realised I should have made more of a hoo-ha over the mistake. Perhaps something like this -

2 daily meals of raw and cooked bones, offal and meat, kibble [currently Canidae], rice and greens.

Now you see what I mean!

That caption should have read -

2 daily meals of  raw bones, raw and cooked offal and meat, kibble [currently Canidae], rice and greens.

Because, of course, cooked bones are bad for dogs! [So please people, stop tossing them over your fence onto the road! and leaving them behind in the park after your picnic! No one will think you're being kind and generous to share your leftover cooked bones this way.]

Thank god, I say, THANK GOD! for Ms Jean, her sharp eye and her knowledge of such things!

I'm still distressed that Blogger won't let me change it on the original post. I hope that I'll be able to one day, as I'd hate someone trying to find the right bone for his/her dog to ever have to read that.

P>S> When I was at Something Wagging last night, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to join the Saturday BlogHop in the hope of getting more input on the last post.

It was my 1st time ever and, I'm afraid, I might have messed up. So here I am, about to make yet another correction.

Thank you Life With Dogs, Two Little Cavaliers and Confessions of the Plume for hosting.

NOTE No need to make any comments on this post, unless you want to throw a dummy spit at Blogger.

Otherwise, please go back to the last post HERE. Any thoughts on the subject will be welcome :)

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Georgia Little Pea, am I EVER glad I stumbled across your Blog. I should have "into" the housework by now but I have been reading heaps of your posts and would love to be your friend. You have pretty cool humans too! I have 4 (early) retired working dogs on my blog (you could meet them under the Furry Friends tab) I'm only telling you this because its nice for you to know there are heaps of humans out there who put their dogs first! I'll be visiting again Georgia and I think your name is "gorgeous" !

Hi Rose from Oz!

Thank you for visiting and for your kind comment. You must have published it just as I was deleting the 3.30 post! So I've taken the liberty to re-publish it for you here.

I will visit you soon, I promise [perhaps after some sleeeep!] Until then :)

Every once in awhile I "publish" a post, go view it and realize of a mistake I missed. I haven't had any problems correcting as yet and I sure hope I don't. It would be VERY frustrating.

I've been so sick, this is the first of the posts that I've read. I hate when Blogger throws it's tantrums. That's one of the reasons I don't miss it. I'm glad that at least you finally got it to work!

Bunny's mama - "so sick"? hope it's nothing too serious. too many hikes in the cold wet snow maybe? anyway, back to bed with the girls and get well soon x

I do not plan to throw anything at you, as typos happen to the best of us, and you were so diligent in changing it!

I've had a lot of Blogger friends complaining about it recently because of the issues they've had. I use wordpress, and I know some of them are switching. You may want to look into it!

I'm glad I found your blog and look forward to reading more.

Had wondered about the cooked bones, thought there was simply new research out proving otherwise. Certainly don't think you had to loose sleep over it though lol. Hope you have caught up on the zzzzzz xoxox

Well, you never know...1000s of people may be reading this blog at any given second and believe everything I say BWAH HA HA!

I can't wait for Blogger to allow me to correct the mistake in the post. BTW Do I know you? You sound awfully familiar for an anon :)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who wants to correct any mistakes immediately! I get so frustrated when I learn there's a typo or other issue and I can't fix it that moment.

Pup Fan - there's a word for people like us. I think it's meticulous (hmmm...cross out)
fussy (cross out)
perfectionists (cross out)

No actually, I think the word I'm looking for may be...

...anal ;)

Had come back and comment on a coupla things Ms Pea - first the bones; I CANNOT believe how many friends over the years and family members may have come to dinner for instance, and scrape the plates etc and there's bones and they ask where to put them for the dogs. Generally speaking too many people for my liking are aghast when I say they will be wrapped carefully and put in the bin. I quit going into a long rant over the whys etc as I'm pretty quick to pick up on "duh" looks. You all get my gist here. Secondly about correcting posts; haven't had a prob YET, but I"m sure I will. Blogger has given me more than a few heart palps over my short time. And lastly Ms.Pea we DO FINISH DSaving at the end of this month? Dont we? Surely?

Daylight saving you mean? I haven't a clue! I hope so. It's getting harder and harder to wake up for Georgia's morning walk (speaking for The Other Half here ;p)

Benno can't have any bones, whether cooked or raw. His tummy wummy (OMG!) can't digest them.

Love to Georgia, I hope she didn't eat a cooked bone by mistake.

Ouch , Friko, OUCH!

Thank you for the PSA about throwing cooked bones on the street. My dog finds them every where on every single bloody walk, forcing me to spend the next five minutes fighting with her to drop it. Annoying. And dangerous.

I hope you got your yummy breakfast!

Oh, my. I know what you mean about cooked bones--some time ago, I found a very sharp pork chop bone someone threw over our fence. I was livid!

GLP, you eat very well, no matter what!

Do you think carcasses can be considered cooked bones?! Because Mason and my parent's dog, Walter, LOVE anything dead! Mason wants to roll in it and Walter wants to gobble it down!

I use wordpress but don't worry I get punished, too. I recently lost all my google friend connect readers due to the powers that be.

Poor thing. I'm sure there's nothing worse than a vegan whose dog insists on being carnivorous lol.

That's a good question and one I'm curious about too. There's a lady who sells (organic) chicken carcasses for dogs around the corner and I'm going to check them out soon. I think they must be RAW because cooked small bones would be especially bad for dogs. They're pricey so I might have to pick up some knifing skills ;)

Yesterday I picked up 2 humongous turkey legs from the supermarket. Have never tried them before either. Georgia will be in for a treat as soon as she gets over her bad tum and the runs. All that yum food and she can't eat any because she scoffed some cat poo (from some random cat that uses our yard as its litter box sigh) and is now sick as a dog.

Re: WP. WHEW. I'm so relieved to hear they're not perfect! x

You are absolutely AMAZING. DO NOT FORGET THAT EVER. Mistakes are inevitable, but I don't often see people readily and immediately owning them...thanks for everything, your advice is invaluable :)
