A hopefully not too laborious update and some thank you notes.

It has come to my attention that The Typist has made me the butt of a cruel  joke [yet again] and when I was too weak to defend myself too. She can be a real stinker.

However, given that she might have been feeling cranky from sleep deprivation and it's her birthday week, I will forgive her and move on to more important things like an update on my health and happiness.

*Thank *you *EVeryone
for your advice and for asking after me!

I think my humans were quite worried because I've been quiet and mostly sleeping for 2 weeks. I stopped harassing The Typist for food. I didn't even want to cuddle with My Cushion or go for walks! To be honest, I don't know what came over me [and neither does Dr Dog].

But I'm back now and ready to push my humans' buttons again! [Strangely enough, they seem quite pleased with that but I'm sure the feeling will soon pass.]

Here's an update on what's been happening this week.

My Cushion took me shopping over the weekend. Since I now have to be on leashed walks, he bought me a new harness. It has a nice padded front and is very comfy. Considering I've had to make do with my old half-chewed one with a broken buckle for more than a year, I'm a little suspicious of this largesse.
"Why are you suddenly being so nice to me, Cushion? Are you feeling guilty because you let me jump the wall and hurt myself and gave me the lamb ear that [allegedly] made me fart?"

He also bought me this pillow. It's supposed to stop me chewing my toes. Just between you and me, it doesn't work too well [maybe because I'm a flexible dog] but I like it heaps better than The Horrible Thing so please don't tell my humans I told you so.
My pillow's name is DoughNut.

Thanks Ms Jean for telling my humans about DoughNut. I'm so grateful you suggested it!  Thanks Flo's Mama for telling my humans where to get it here in Stryliah, and for offering to send me one!

*

I haven't had to wear DoughNut the last few days though because I've stopped trying to eat my paws. But I now have raw skin and scabs from trying to eat them last week so The Typist has to give my paws a medicated wash every! other! day! for 2 weeks.

The Typist asked Dr Dog if it was a good idea to wash my paws in salt water as well and he said "Yes! That's a good idea!"

Thanks Ms Rose for giving My Typist this good idea.
Here I am enjoying my soothing oatmeal and salt foot bath.

You can see how disgusted thrilled I am that I now have salt foot soaks to endure look forward to as well as my medicated baths.

*

In other news, my neck is much better and I can now turn it around and look up.

Here's a picture of me on my 3rd visit to Dr Dog. Don't worry. It's G-rated even though Dr Dog is feeling me up.
Unfortunately, my back left leg is now ouchy. Dr Dog had a look at it and thinks it could be a c.r.u.c.i.a.t.e  l.i.g.a.m.e.n.t  problem and we'll have to keep an eye on it. [I think this means I'm stuffed and won't be playing with my friends or jumping down walls for a long time forever.]

"Please don't tell me I'm not as young and nimble as I used to be. A Lady does not need to hear rubbish like that."

*

And finally, the most important update of all, and the one you've all been holding your breath for.

Yes. I have stopped farting.

Thank you Person In Charge.

You look so good in your harness! It makes your legs look longer.
A doughnut? Looks perfect to help your neck.
The picture of you in the foot bath is... Hilarious.
I hope your back leg improves soon.
I won't comment on the farting...

Georgia, may I come share your oatmeal and salt water foot bath? It sounds lovely!
And I am glad your Cushion got you some things, but why don't I see a new bed for you in there? Are you still having to use Lumpy Old Thing since the airbed went kaboom?
And it is not old age that is doing you in - over time, walls grow higher, paths grow longer, the floor drops lower, - it's not us, it's the environment changing! At least that's what I tell myself. (And for the non-canines, print grows smaller and people mumble a lot more!).

OMG Ms Jean! I've been shortchanged! Thank goodness you reminded me. I shall get to work on My Cushion immediately.

Glad you are doing a lot better GLP!

You did manage to get the attention of your typist, cushion and dr. so you were successful in doing what every dog wants to do.

The dog farting is a great touch. We wonder if Poodle farts would have the effect yours did.

you sweet sweet girl, im so sorry for all the torture they have put you through, you are always welcome to come stay here in Texas :)

We are a fart free house though :)

OH some good news there! BOL

I had that kind of cone - much nicer.

Great news - I gave you an Award! Check out my post today!

Oh, your harness looks so good on you! Don't chew this one up, Miss GLP. I'm glad you're feeling so much better, even if Dr. Dog did insult you a little. I've found that men can be a little insensitive to a lady's delicate sensibilities at times!

I am very glad to hear you are doing well enough to show off your fancy new harness. Lookin' pretty stylish there.

Like the others, I don't think an oatmeal foot bath sounds like such a horrible ideal. Maybe it's not very becomming for a dog to enjoy such things but I think you should try to look at it in a more positive way. You never know, if you relax, you may find yourself enjoying it!

Ms Jan - I think it's safe to say I well and truly buried the Kindles. Well done me!

Scrappy - Woohoo! Thank you. Will be right there :) x

Georgia, I am so happy to know that your various parts are [mostly] working properly again. Be very gentle with that ligament: look pathetic from time to time so you can play Lap Dog. You can make this work for you. :-)

You are a very fortunate girl, believe it or leave it, to have such a good Cushion to buy you such handsome gifts, not to mention your Soul of Motherhood Typist. Think of the poor dogs all over the world who only get to EAT doughnuts instead of WEARING them!

Georgia...I'm so glad you're better! We have a DoughNut too. Recently Freedom had to wear it because Casper nipped her on the side and she wouldn't leave it alone. She too is nimble and could work around it. So, when I wasn't with her, she had to wear the cone-of-shame, but the DoughNut worked well when I was in the room with her. It gave her just enough trouble that I could correct her before she started licking. I'm glad you stopped farting too. I think that alone will help The Typist's and The Cushion's dispostions. You may be getting all kinds of presents and treats.

Jen said...

That new harness is very nice indeed!

This no farting thing, though...that intrigues me.

georgia little pea said...

Dear Ms June - you can EAT doughnuts? Thanks for the tip! Trust My Soul of Motherhood Typist not to tell me.

Dear Ms Lori - that's exactly how my humans use DoughNut! I didn't want to boast but I also got some yogurt drops, a bag of meaty bikkies and some vitamins. (I don't think the last one is a treat though so maybe it doesn't count.)

Dear Ms Jen - it intrigues my humans too. 3 solid days of farts and then poof! (so to speak). My Cushion found out at the park today that other doggies in the area have had bad tummy bugs, so maybe that's what I had.

Yay!! So happy to hear that you are feeling better :) I have to agree that the oatmeal and salt bath looks very relaxing!

You are right to view largesse with suspicion. I notice that it didn't run to a new bed though. You might have to pull another muscle for that, but it is a great, comfy looking harness. And you're getting a foot spa! I have purposely not shown this to Miss Fab as she will feel neglected, I'm sure. I am very relieved to note that your innards seem to be behaving themselves a little better. Just be careful that Typist isn't feeding you off things on purpose to force extra visits to Dr Dog. We're still waiting for the boardies shot. ;)

I think Ms Jean is right you know... you should get your Cushion to buy you a new bed with all the fluffiness beclaws he let you jump off some wall.. hurt yourself.. feed you some lamb ears to make you fart.. and and... he is guilty as a bee. A new bed would be splendid don't ya think? (hope your Cushion do read comments)

My cow really really loves DoughNutS... but i don't think we have it THATTTTTTTTTT big in our country. They make it really small and you have gotta eat like 10 to feel satisfied.

is your DoughNut edible?

we stumbled on something called the boobooloon... its something like them DoughNuts but its just white. All them dogs looks happy and smiling with them boobooloon on the website. Do you think they are paid to smile?

Hope your curious c.r.u.c.i.a.t.e thingy heals soon. Its such a bummer not being able to go wild at the parks and meet friends. I bet your friends are missing you tons.

Dr Dog still looks kinda handsome.. bent overs. *LOL*

georgia little pea said...

PEOPLE please! An oatmeal salt foot soak is not relaxing! A big bone to slowly gnaw on for half a day is relaxing. Am I the only one thinking here?

Fab - I'm getting more and more cross that I forgot to take My Cushion to the bed section. I must really have not been well that day. BAD NEWS! Dr Dog is going on long service leave! As of today! Whoever heard of such a ridiculous thing! We are all panicking. The boardies will have to wait. Maybe he'll send us a picture from Broome.

Anny - a boobooloon? What a great name :) I'll have to google it. Yes, The Cushion reads EVERYTHING! He's such a sticky beak. Oops. Sorry hon! X

Ms Pea - at last I am here to check in on you and what a wonderful surprise to find that you are doing so well!! - even if you are not too impressed with some things. I agree Ms Pea, you need a new bed especially with the joint problems!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Lots of hugs coming your way! Could you ask your Typist for me if she recommends your DoughNut over the Horrible thing? Brooks is home from surgery with the Horrible thing and he seems kind of sad in it. But I have read reviews on the DoughNut thing that he might still be able to get to his stitches. hmmph. There is also something called the Comfy Cone. So many options, none seem that great though. Well, keep getting better, and have a fun day.

That's a pretty flash donut you have there, Miss Georgia :P I'm sure that you were so very thrilled to wear it :0

Visiting you from June and laughing here in CO! You are a dog with much charisma. - I'm so glad that at least the farting is under control. Feel better soon. Happy Birthday to the Typist!

georgia little pea said...

Sugar - no, NO! The oatmeal salt soak is for the toes. For the farts, you have to ask The Person In Charge! BTW, it's Sunday here and I've started poooting again. Not as badly mind you! But my humans have decided divine intervention isn't going to work after all and got me some Flagyl yesterday. So far, so good.

Peggy - I wouldn't recommend the DoughNut if Brooks is a flexible dog. I googled some reviews before we picked it up and it doesn't work for every dog. Actually, it doesn't work for a lot of dogs! Issues range from inability to stay puffed up to being easy to destroy. Whether or not it works seems to depend on the shape of your dog (better for dogs with short legs, for example). I would add, if your dog is persistent like Georgia, it's probably not good enough.

Like someone who commented earlier here, we use it when we're around to also keep an eye. It's much MUCH more comfortable but she still considers it a "punishment" so she settles down and stops licking the moment it's on. I'm glad we got it, but don't expect miracles!

Hi Barb - welcome and thanks for visiting! :)
