She was last seen 11 days ago, bawling away in her
On Monday arvo, this dog was dropped off at our doorstep.
While she bears an uncanny resemblance to Georgia, we are not convinced.
Notice the lack of wilfulness.
Compare this with an old picture of Georgia scolding us for something we did or didn't do.
The dog [that is now sleeping quietly on her bed on the floor] is
Does this sound like Georgia to you? I think not.
We're currently gathering information on what might have happened in the last 11 days, and hope to get back to you soon. Anyone with pertinent information is encouraged to step forward.
Your patience, until we get to the bottom of this mystery, is much appreciated.
"No, I don't need to be cuddled on the couch. I'll be quite comfy on this old bed on the floor."
"I'm fine. Really. Thank you."

We missed Georgia... but the current one does look like her, feel like her but not sure it's her though. Hope you can get to the bottom of this and please bring back the Georgia we all love.
Licks, hero
OH! My heart stopped for a moment there, but then realized Georgia is going through a syndrome I call the "I must be good or they'll send me back there" syndrome. Some dogs who spend time at kennels while their people travel go through this. Currently, 1 out of 3 of mine suffer from this affliction, but no worries- give it a few days and all will be back to normal!
LOL, glad you are back!
Jen and the Black Dog Crew
Keep up that cold shoulder treatment, Georgia! They'll be really sorry soon!
I've missed you, and I'm glad to see you back!
Bunny
good to be back!
@Jen - we're quite conflicted between wanting the old Georgia back and enjoying the decorous lady we now have :p
As an owner of a doggy camp, I can tell you that what you are experiencing is very common. I often get people calling me after their dogs stay with us, asking.....What did you do to my dog......
Some people are happy, others are very concerned.
So here are my thoughts for you.
As mentioned above....give her a few days and she will most likely turn back into the girl you know and loved with maybe a small change of a bit more gentle demeaner.
Take advantage of the next few days of peace and quiet cause she is most likely mentally and physically exhausted.
Be sure to reward her for the behavior changes you like.
And tell her Bert loves her, no matter what changes of life she goes through.
My Vickie (with permission from Bert to write to his bloggy friends.)
Plus he said to tell Miss Georgia Little Pea that he missed her and is glad she is back
I saw a movie about that once, called "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww... you are home Georgia... and and keep on with the cold shoulders to THEM. Who ask them to dump you at holiday camp rite? Don't snuggle with them.. and and only take nice treats.. and and.. don't even lie on their legs when they beg... that should teach them for leaving you for 11 LOOOOOOOOOOOONG DAYS.
woofs n licks,
Dommy
pees... i should probably get to the posty office and send yer stuffs to you now that you are home :) sorry for them delay. SHE is very lazy to move.
@Bert's Vickie - we're definitely rewarding her for the good changes and hope they're here to stay. we're also taking advantage of the sudden delightful peace :) i fear we may get too used to it!
@Jan - exactly like that!!!
@Anny - the shoulders are freeeezing. thanks for the posty bit. woohoo :)
That is definitely not the Georgia I have come to know and love through your blog. I do hope that the Holiday Camp realizes their mistake and, perhaps in the dark of night, switches this one for the real Georgia. Of course, she might just be on a plane to Canada, following her sunbeams and coming to visit a blogger friend who truly appreciates how mean it is to leave a dog like Georgia in a jail...er...holiday camp while you go off enjoying yourselves.
(You did enjoy yourself, I hope???)
@Jean B - *lol* YES! and apart from the 1st few days, we didn't even think of the princess. what dreadful dogparents we are!
I remember those days when we'd pick the boys up from "camp" and they were so stand-offish. Hopefully the good things stick, and you're back to cuddling again soon.
Maybe GLP has her nose a little out of joint or PTSD from the time she spent at doggie jail?
How was your holiday? Hope you guys had a great time!
So where did you guys go? I gather it was somewhere warm:)
Hmm, it's a bit of a quandary isn't it. Maybe you just need a few days to get used to the new (and improved?) GLP or perhaps she just needs a few days to realise that she's home before she's back to the GLP we all know and love. Oh, fancy having a disagreement 5 mins after arriving at doggie camp, lol. I'll bet she's soon giving you lots of blog fodder:) Missed you, so glad you're all home safe and sound.
First off--so glad you're back. Hope you had a wonderful time despite being worried sick (for a few days) about your little pea.
But you have definitely made my mind up. I've been debating whether I should enroll Honey in holiday camp when I go to sailing school in August. I am now determined not to.
After all, if Honey came back any better behaved, someone would determine I didn't deserve her and they'd take her away from me. I can't let that happen. She has to remain my little secret (shhh, don't tell anyone).
@GCS - it was indeed somewhere warm :) can't say where yet because i'm still wondering if i have the energy to muster up a contest!
@Pamela - on the other hand, if Honey met a dog like Georgia, she might slip over to the dark side. i'm guessing Ms Manners won't last.
Yeah,
She probably got treated like a "DOG" !!
And had to contend with all sorts of doggy delimmas.
Is she punishing you?
Hope you survive.
Oh dear... when I read that first sentence I was worried for a moment!
So glad you're back and had a nice time. I can't wait to hear more! I agree with many of the other comments...Relax and enjoy because when Georgia comes back, she's probably got a whompin' in store for you.
You're on the right track, GLP--keep 'em guessing, that's what I say. I attempted a break-out last time I was put in one of those places. Let them think your stint in solitary was just a mind-numbing experience and not a ploy to keep them from sending you back to prison, 'er Holiday Camp....
Poor Georgia. Did they all turn her into a proper lady at summer camp? Egads!
I am sure she will return to her normal self soon. My parents have told me how their dog is often a little off for a few days after returning from a similar holiday. But he always bounces back. In the meantime, I suggest you enjoy the silence. ;-)
Hope your vacation was a lot of fun!
For a moment there, I actually did think we'd start seeing Georgia's photos on milk cartons. That is a scary transformation, but after being away for 11 days, almost understandable. I'm sure that when our dog had to spend the night at the kennel, we were more worried than her.
I'm sure Georgia will get right back into her old behaviour when she realizes she's not going back there. Maybe enjoy the good girl attitude while it lasts :D
Please delete this comment when you read it, and glad you are back btw with this beautiful new dog! Hope you had a great holiday.
I dont have your email address (mine is kenzohw@gmail.com) but just checking that you want me to actually delete the comments on the BSL post? Just that I understand it correctly, then I remove them if you want.
Oh, this post had me startled at the beginning! I thought there was an accidental switcheroo between Georgia and a look-a-like. Talk about double identities! Will the real Georgia please raise her paw?
So glad to have you back from Nice-and-warm Land! (Remember that when it is snowing here in Virginia, it will be warm where you live. So I'm excused in making that comment.) :)
I think the "real" GLP is still in there somewhere - she's just decompressing. Maybe you could invite some of her friends (say Hector?) over for some warm muffins. That might snap her out of it. :)
P.S. I mentioned you on my blog the day before yesterday (June 20) :) You should go see.
Oh we missed Georgia! We hope she gets back to her normal self soon. I'm sure in a couple days she'll bounce back! She missed y'all!
@ EVERYONE - thanks! had a ball. tummy paying for it now, big time :p
i believe SHE's struggling to come back. like watching a split personality at work. tried to post last night but of course, Blogger is down. *surprise*
@Elizabeth - sounds like another mystery. will be right over :)
@Kenzo - NO don't delete my comment. it was an afterthought, but meant to be that way or it wouldn't make sense haha! actually, i'm not sure if you really want me to delete YOURS!!!
sounds like somebody is glad to be home! or maybe she doesn't recognize YOU and your tan!
welcome home!
