A short update on my trip to the gulag.

I don't know why The Typist worries about my diet so much.
Yesterday's yummy brekkie [rudely dragged from my throat by Cushion.]

It looks like I will be going to Camp Could Be Nice! I was going to show you pictures of the place, and the 2 short horsies and giant black pig that live there, but The Typist stuffed up and the piccies are gone.

Camp Could Be Nice is just like The Camp Commandant's place so I will be out in the paddock during the day with the other doggies. It looks cleaner though [important only to my humans] and I won't have to sleep in a cage at night. All us dogs get to sleep in a sheltered enclosed verandah right next to the house.

And guess what I saw when I was there? 2 big containers of raw chicken carcasses! [excess fat removed]. I think I'm going to be okay. Don't you?
Are you guys sure there aren't any doggy holiday camps next to a beach?

What a relief! Mom has been telling Dachshund Daddy all about the Typist's search. So glad that CAMP COULD BE NICE will work out just fine. When the Typist writes that she "stuffed up" -- does that mean to make a mistake?

Keep on wagging. You'll be okay at CAMP COULD BE NICE. We're barking for you from afar and will send doggrams.

Love,
Tootsie

Yes TOOTS! She made a mistake, screwed up, was a galah. Of course she blames Blogger and iPad.

Hopefully camp gulag mark 2 will be okay....I think taking you with you would be better...have you tried the "I'm an old dog who doesn't handle stress well anymore " ploy?

Good god REILLY/DENNY! I'm old?! Why hasn't anyone told me this?! ARGHHH!

I'm hopeful. Looking forward to hearing your review, once The Cushion & Typist return. I can't identify the item in the first picture and was a little scared to look too hard. Safe travels, Cushion & Typist.

I think you will be fine. And....what the hell did you eat???

georgia little pea said...

MS LORI and ROXY, it was a yummy possum, probably killed by a fox. If you look closely, you can see the nose and teeth!

Sounds like an adventure!

Georgia - what WERE you eating? That looks horrible! Isn't kibble with bikkies a better choice? Have fun at Camp Could Be Nice. Eat what they give you, and remember that no matter how the horse and pig "droppings" smell, it's not for eating. :)

Jean said...

Okay, Georgia, I support raw food for dogs, but raw possum is a bit over the top! Raw chicken carcasses (excess fat removed) from Camp Could Be Nice's doggy kitchen sounds much safer.

I'm glad Camp Could Be Nice looks promising. I will look forward to your report when you return.

Camp Could Be Nice could be nice if there is no chance you couldn't sneak into your human's suitcase. Can't wait to hear your adventures.

Did you tell the humans they were driving on the wrong side of the road?

urmm.. what's that thing u found for brekkie? seems to have hair n teeth and urmm.. a nose? stick with the nice brekkie the Typist provides. That's why she is there for. To provide all good nutritious meals for u. I sometimes find weird stuffs in the garden too. Sometimes the strays are kind to leave me some grubs they can't finish. Then i hear a scream and a yell... and things get scooped up quick.

if there's chicken.. you'll be fine at Camp Could/Might/Hopefully be Nice. If they smack you...bark real loud okay. Else try and send a message over if you can find those puters thingy.. we'll come and save you.

i've never bean to the beach... my hooman says i m curly and sand and salt n water will creep up on me and stay. Bah!

woofs n licks,
Dommy

Pea, what have you gotten into already and they haven't even left! Hope they keep a watchful eye on you at the Camp. Looks like you need it!

Holy Crap!!! What the hell IS that??!!! OMD! Your gonna give Ma nightmares! She's seen too many of my 'treasures', at least they were 'fresh'! (is it strange that Ma is okay with 'fresh' kills, and totally grossed out by 'old' ones?! hehehe)
Okays, I thinks the gulag, um ~ sorry, CAMP will be funs!
Kisses,
Ruby

Wassamatta with your humans Ms Pea, bit o' smelly possum is good for you- coupla chuck-ups is par for the course afterwards but that's all part of the fun hey?
OK now Camp Could be Nice is sounding pretty acceptable, but what did you think of the PEOPLE?? Did you interact with them? Did they speak to you? The interview had to be to your liking Ms Pea, you will be there a whole MONTH you know! Oh dear, oh me, oh my......

georgia little pea said...

Dear MS SHERRI, kibble and bikkies over putrifying possum? Are ya mad?

Dear MS JEAN, I beg to differ. Putrifying anything is delicious. I should know, I've had a lot.

Good on ya for takin' a good look DOMMY! Tell your human not to be so lazy. You have to go to the beach at least once! Sand can be washed out of fur. Mr T went to the beach all the time and he definitely had more fur than you.

It was pretty fresh RUBY. There weren't any maggots on it and the fur was lying by the side ;)

You would let me eat possum, MS ROSE? Can I come live with you now that your house is almost ready? I could clean up stuff for you like dead curlews ;)
Mr O was okay. He was quite old maybe 60 something? and has been looking after doggies for 15 years. He didn't fuss over me and call me Gorgeous or Princess. (I know! What's wrong with him eh.) I don't know if he has helpers but the place looked cleaner than TCC's place and the doggies there looked pretty happy. I will try to get The Typist to do an exposé of dog boarding kennels in Sydney when she comes home! Wish me luck!

Dead Possum? Ewwwwwwwwwww *big breath* wwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Glad that Camp Could Be Nice is actually nice! Just stay away from the dead possums while your humans are away.

Errrrgh--I see the nose and teeth! Holy moly, that's one gnarly breakkies.

I'm sure they'll be nice to you at the gulag.

Kolchak Puggle said...

Well, I'm pretty sure Mama just threw up in her mouth, Georgia. Why on earth would you try to consume that thing teeth, snout and ALL when you have fresh, clean tasty meat inside? I've seen your diet. You eat real good. REAL GOOD.

However, the menu at camp sounds heavenly and I'd definitely go with that. Sounds like more of a vacation than a camp.

georgia little pea said...

Obviously you guys haven't had freshly killed possum. It is YUM! Also worth trying...sundried squid bait, bloated drowned fish, road kill birds (not so keen on the feathers), mouldy bread and kitty poop. You got to eat them fast though! For some strange reason, your humans will start screaming and try to choke you.

Dear Georgia, I hope the "camp gulag" will be nice.
Oh my dear, what did you had to breakfast?
Lots of kisses and hugs to you and yours.

PS: I wish I could to have the courage to hanging onto the parachute! No way! Lol!

We don't walk on the roads here GLP, no road kill at the beach:) I do have to watch out for stuff that might have been poisoned though, so far I havent come across any, whew! I kind of wish I hadn't enlarged the possum head pic! UGLY!

Camp Could Be Nice sounds pretty good:)

Peggy Frezon said...

What the heck was that, I think I see a nose in there! ick! Well I hope you have a fun time with your friends and maybe try eating something a little less gross next time.

H and Flo said...

Why don't they ever let you eat the good stuff?

Camp Couldbenice sounds like it could be nice. It's a shame there are no photos to show us though. Perhaps your Typist and Cushion could leave you with a disposable camera and a quick lesson in how to use it so that we can stay updated while they galavant around the globe looking for another cold, wet place to live. ;) How long before you are abandoned?

georgia little pea said...

12 days H! They finally finished organising their trip yesterday. The bags are out getting some sun. BOOHOO!

LetterstoAndrew said...

Camp sounds ok, but I have to say whatever you attempted to eat for breakfast looks gruesome. Pardon my language but WTF WAS that?

Furry Bottoms said...

What.Is.That.In.The.Bag.?!?! a nose and teeth.

Amy said...

Oh, Georgia - it sounds like you'll have a wonderful vacation AND YOU'LL COME BACK CLEAN! It really doesn't get any better than that. I was not a fan of you being left anywhere that someone would whack you on the head. It makes me angry just thinking about it! I hoe you're Cushion and Typist have a great trip and that you have so much fun you forget to miss them. <3

booahboo said...

didya checked in early to the gulag already?

Pamela said...

I'm so behind on my reading that I had no idea you were already headed to Camp Could Be Nice.

It hope it turns out to be Camp is Damn Awesome and that your people bring you a wonderful souvenir from New Zealand--maybe a lamb shank?

chandra said...

GLP, I need to go to camp to recover from seeing the photo of your brekkie. And I thought Mason's afternoon "Kitty Roca" snacks were bad. (Do you have Almond Roca in Stryliah? Or in New Zeeland?!)

Gave a high-5 to the sky today for Mr. Thumper!

Dear ANNY and PAMELA, still here but horribly busy. I'm sure my hair would have turned white if it wasn't coloured.

CHANDRA, thank you for remembering. I decided not to post on Rufus and Jordan's death anniversaries this year. Still miss the boys though and wish things could have been different, especially for Jordan. Hard to let go of regrets. Hugs X

P.S. yes, we have almond roca. They are one of my favourite choccies but expensive!
