Here is our short list. Who would you go with?
#1 Massa D.
I sometimes meet Massa D in the park. He takes doggies out for walks and has them stay over at his house. He has 5 doggies of his own. They get to eat yummy food like beef casserole, pork chops and spaghetti bolognaise. They get hand fed many times a day, and sleep on the couch and Massa's bed. He must love them lots. Last weekend, I had a sleepover and met Massa's cat. I yowled at her! I have never seen a cat in a house before! they are always on the street where I live! I tried to jump up the cupboard to say hello! But Massa was pretty strict and I didn't get to kiss the cat after all. The Typist a.k.a. My No Fun Nutritionist isn't keen to let me stay with Massa because all 5 of his dogs are very very fat from their special diet and she's not sure Massa will feed me boring food. Personally, I have no problems being very very fat and hope she will re-consider her decision so I can improve my culinary knowledge.
#2 The Camp Commandant.
I've stayed with The Camp Commandant twice before. It's the place where I get to stay outside all day, walk in a pack, dig holes and get muddy. I only get to eat once a day though, and sleep in a cage which is a bummer. The best thing about The Camp Commandant is that I don't get baths at her place. I stayed 5 weeks the last time and never got bathed once! My jammies and blankie didn't get washed either. They were so gummy, The Typist had to bin the blankie. She would have binned my jammies too but it cost too much money. It was 3 weeks before I smelt normal again. The very worst thing about The Camp Commandant is that she smacked me on the head (very hard) for kerfuffling with one of her dogs. It was when I got dropped off and was scared. My humans were not at all happy, but it was too late to look for another place because they were leaving the next day for Brazeel. To everyone's surprise, I survived The Camp Commandant and came home better behaved and in good shape.
#3 Camp Could Be Nice.
We are right now on our way to Camp Could Be Nice! It is almost 2 hours away and just like The Camp Commandant's place which means I get to stay outside all day with other doggies. The Typist says the doggies there get a bath before they go home. This seems frightfully important to her. I think it sucks but, apart from that, it looks nice in the piccies on the i.n.t.e.r.n.e.t. so we are hopeful.
Here I am, on my way. Wish me luck!

It's too bad you can't have all the food you can eat AND no baths. But life is full of compromises.
BTW, did you know that everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road. Thought you should know.
BWAH haha! That's funny MS JAN :D
Without YOU??! Oh my. That is just WRONG! Just sayin'....
Okay, well, at least it sounds like you gets to get all muddy and have funs with other doggies and stuffs. I sleep in a crate (most of the night..hehehe), it's kinda cool. Butts, if your not use to it, I guess it could suck. Lots of foodables sounds FABulous to me!
Bath part, well what good is it washin' away all your hard work?! Geesh.
Good luck! See ya on the other side! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby
Just to let you know: ms Georgia Littlepea does not live at your address. At least it is the excuse your postman found for not delivering my new year card to you...
Good luck at the camp, and good trip to New Zeeland
This is sooooo hard. If the new place checks out, I would give it a try.
urmmm... Massa seems like a good bet.. at least she'll be home and well fat.. i mean fed. Not sure about the cat though.
i wouldn't send her to #2 The Camp Commandant again if they smack her before. #3 Camp Could Be Nice might be nice.. let's hope they are nice. They are sending you off to camp already?
i dread sending Dom for boarding. Over here... its mostly in shophouses.. and no wide open spaces for them to run wild. He's used to the garden.
Have fun in Noo Zeelearn!! Dad's been bugging us to take him there but the flight alone to get there costs a bomb.
Oh Georgia, what a dilemma. I hope Camp Could Be Nice is Camp Very Nice. Camp Commandant is on the "don't you dare leave her there again Typist!" list. No person who smacks Georgia Little Pea hard on the head should get another chance. If she does that with the Typist and Cushion there, what does she do when they are NOT there?!!!
Massa D sounds like someone you would like to stay with, and if it is only for a week or two, the extra calories and forbidden foods won't hurt you. But if your peoples are going away for ages and ages, then that's no so good. But you mustn't bug the cat.
Or the Typist can pay the air fare for a flight from Canada to Australia, and I will come look after you.....
Dear MS VERO, it might have been Cushion's work address. That's where all my mail was sent to before. I will get TT to send you our address :) Thank you for the card! Please send us another one next new year! :D
Dear MS ANNY, my humans have been googling for 2 weeks now, looking for places to stay and cars and stuff, and they say to tell you EVERYTHING costs a bomb in Noo Zeelearn. Hey! Maybe YOU can start a nice holiday camp for dogs where you live!
What a great idea MS JEAN! except, who would look after Eddie, Mitzi and Allie? Maybe I should fly over to you instead? At times like this, I wish I was a chihuahua or daschund or something that could fit into a cabin bag. Sigh.
A holiday camp in my country won't work very well... because in 1 month's time from opening day, you'll find dogs... cats.. rabbits..snake.. hamsters.. or even old mothers and fathers dumped at your gates. You just give them a place to dump their responsibility when they are bored with them. (doesn't include moms n dads but old folks are dumped at general hospitals almost everyday.
Vets/Shelters/Grooming Shops/Petshops.. thats where ppl dump kittens/puppies...that they removed from their compound. Its a very vicious cycle.
the last time my colleague was in Noo Zeelearn with their 2 yo boy.. they rented a small van... and just slept in it. Went to public loos to have baths n stuffs. They might/could have stink a bit at the end of their holiday. Could work if the weather is decent. Could save u loads of money... and it would be urmm.. quite a romantic adventure.
Oh my dear Ms Pea - a DIlemma of huge proportions....... I'm with Jean I vote for Massa D,- your Typist and Cushion are only leaving you for say 2 weeks, right? That's my vote, until we are notified otherwise that it is to be more than the customary 2 week reccy. An update if you please on the Might be Nice, would be nice. You look very thoughtful sitting there in the car. When?? are they leaving you Ms Pea?? Oh dear oh me oh my.
ANNY - NOOOO! Surely you jest about dumping old people at hospitals? I'm afraid Cushion and I are no longer at a romantic age and would rather have a nice private place to poop. Sadly, that costs $$$.
A month MS ROSE. Aren't they awful? I think the reccy is just an excuse for a holiday. I will tell all....maybe tomorrow?
Oh, it's easy, get your Typist and Cushion to bring you along too and drop you off at my place for the month:) I know Frankie would love some reinforcements, it's real tough when both Beryl and Riley want to play with him at the same time!!
I couldn't promise to bath you though, GLP:(
In fact you could all stay here! I expect at least a visit ... I've got 3 toilets, how's that for an incentive???
Failing you coming along too, GLP, I'd reserve my choice until I hear how the place you just visited panned out.
Dear Georgia:
You are super funny. You make me wag. You make my mom laugh.
We sure hope that CAMP COULD BE NICE is a good place, because your other two options sound very freaky. One sounds fat freaky and one sounds mean freaky.
Please let us know what happens.
Are the Cushion and the Typist looking at NZ -- to move? Mom met a Swiss gentleman who is moving there to retire and says it is so much better than Switzerland!
:)
Love,
Tootsie & her mom
Dear MS SUE, what a wonderful thought. A toilet to a human, what more could one want?! Alas. My humans are shy saps.
Camp Fat Freaky and Camp Mean Freaky! Hahaha! Brilliant, TOOTS! Is this the proverbial rock and a hard place or what?
A MONTH? A month?! They're leaving you for a month??? Ms Pea. Fly Jean over I say! ;)
Er, I really called by to tell you that if you look really really carefully you can easily see the Syd Opera House (in the broll skyline)
Hahahaha, knew you'd shriek when you saw it.
What? nine more?? Really and truly one would think the perfect minder will be there somewhere. I'm feeling a bit anxious for you. How much time up your sleeve for the search to be completed?
x
At this point in time, ROSE, we're thinking 3-4 months of reccying. Then we take stock and see if there's anything we truly like and want to try. We're feeling anxious ourselves.
That first place sounds good to me. So you pack on a couple of pounds. I have no doubt your humans know how to starve you back down to your fighting weight.
Good luck with the new camp. Having a resort to stay at that you enjoy is very important.
I don't know what the deal is with the bath thing. I bet your blankie smelled just right to you.
Kisses,
Dexter
No contest for us it numero uno. You can always shed the weight later. We say no 1 gulag is our choice. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
Oh I must admit, Kirby would also be liking the five doggies and extra calories! lol. I was so worried at first when I read this, I thought you were saying you were not going to be able to go with your cushion and typist at all, when they found a new place, but then my slow mind caught up with it all :)
Darn right, DEX. My blankie was funky and deliciously pungent. Isn't it bizarre how humans with so few smell receptors up their noses take offence at smells so easily?
Are you mad KIRBY? They would live in a cardboard box before they leave me behind. I think.
Hope you enjoy wherever you stay :)
and hope your family find a new house soon.
Camp 2 - definitely OUT - our Mom would be rope able if she saw someone raise a hand to us - no matter what the circumstance - and what happen when you are not to see???? Hopefully camp 3 works out although apart from the food stuff - camp one sounds okay.
Well hopefully camp 3 turns out good, because the first two don't sound real awesome. Camp one sounds better, you can always go on a diet.
Dear EVERYBODY, seems like you all prefer Massa D. So do I! You can't go wrong with a human who gives you a bikkie every time he sees you, right? If only TT hadn't heard about the spag bol and red wine beef casserole.
I will tell you which gulag my humans intend to send me to, tomorrow. Good night for now. MWAH! X
Your choices seem very limiting, GLP. #2 is a definite no-no. I wouldn't be too keen on eating all that rich food. I'd be barfin' all over the place! Hopefully, #3 pans out, although it's not the greatest....Let us know what you think!
Dear GLP,
We are super glad to be hearing from you again. Your people are silly! You should get everything you want the instant you want it. I hope Camp Would be Nice turns out to be Great. Your pal,
Petey in NYC
Whoa, you don't have a whole lot of options do you?
Depending upon how long they'll be gone I might choose MASSA D. You may be a bit chubbier when you get back but you won't be hit and you won't be dirty!
Try to enjoy your outing. It will probably be harder on your people not getting to see you for an extended time. You will be busy playing! Oh, and getting very dirty ;-)
Hope the new camp is good, otherwise Massa D sounds like a great place! You can always run off the extra weight when they get back. :)
Hmmm. The eat all you want place or the play all you want place. I think'll go with Camp Could Be Nice, a much healthier choice.
To the Typist - Have a fun time in NZ! It's a place I would like to visit some day.
Dearest Georgia,
To follow-up: We are really hoping that CAMP COULD BE NICE was actually nice, because my mom and I are worrying about Camp Fat Freaky and Camp Mean Freaky!
We look forward to your pupdate.
Thanks for reading our recent posts and twavels and for solving the mystery of the Man in the Iron Mask!
Lots of wags and love on your search for the new place,
Tootsie & her mom
Let us know where you are staying. Camp Could Be Nice sounds like the best choice. Good Luck!
Hello GLP! So happy to see a post from you! I don't like baths either! I flatten myself out so it's hard to pick me up. Hope you get to gummy up your bankie and have lots of snaxks.
Love,
Petey in NYC
Oh, Georgia - I do hope that last experience was a good one. I'm actually trying to book a place for myself with Massa D. I got hungry just reading the post.
Miss Georgia I would put on my saddest puppy eyes and ask to stay with Massa D cause if they're going away without you -again!- then they should at least let you choose where you stay...I don't like baths either but The Commandant's place doesn't sound like much fun...Hope that the new place is better
