Dear Ms Lori, greetings from Brisbane!
We thought you might like to know it's 21st December here and we're still alive! Of course, it's only 6 in the morning. Since we are way ahead of you, we will keep you informed if the sky turns green or the magpies start attacking.
Say. How does that work? Would the world end earlier here than where you are because we're already 21st and you're not? I am confoosed.
Anyway, don't worry! and enjoy your clean house! Love, Georgia X
P.S. This is Uncle E's deck. It is a long way down and there are no barriers. The Typist is freaking out.

Good to know Australia's still intact. Maybe I won't need to clean house after all.
The Queen
Give me a few minutes to wipe away the tears of laughter. I'm glad to know that we are still all okay. Won't it be a bummer for you all though to get through December 21st only to find out that the end of the world happens on December 21st Eastern Standard Time (US). Don't let your guard down until the 23rd just to be safe.
Hahaha QUEEN! Are you another one of those? The Typist cleaned ours before we left.
Dear MS LORI, of course! How stoopid of me! Everything always happens on Eastern Standard Time (US). I will remain vigilant!
According to the pundits, the end of the world coincides with the winter solstice, which takes place when the sun reaches its southern-most declination of -23.5 degrees. this year, that will occur at 6:12 AM Eastern Standard Time (US) on December 21st. So you are not out of the woods yet, Georgia.
We have a big party planned at the local cafe for tomorrow - if we don't all perish in the wee small hours.
Whoa MS JEAN, that's precise! I will have to do some calculations and get back to you. If you don't hear from me, that means The End got me.
I'm glad the world hasn't ended where you are yet! It's hard to believe you're enjoying all that sunshine while we have a blizzard here!

Thank you for letting us know that it is Dec. 21 someplace and the world didn't end.
P.S. We would really miss Australia.
Whoohoo, thanks to you now I know for sure that they world is not going to end!
But seriously, be really really careful on that deck. Too bad Poppy's human isn't around to throw up some handrails on that thing!
