Just got the sort of text message that makes your heart go thump.

Got off the potty to see I had 2 missed calls and a message from an unknown person.

"Hi Georgia is with me. Am at Callan Park. Angie."

My poor baby was lost? How? Why?

What luck she was found by someone who knew her. Thank you Angie!

Boy. Is Cushion going to cop it when he gets home.

  1. Georgia must be a very important celebrity to have so many fans.

  4. OMG - and I take it that you learned she was found before Cushion let you know she was lost? Is he still out there hunting for her? Will you keep her being found a secret from him until at least the wee small hours? Heheheheh.
So glad she's safe - can't wait to hear what Georgia has to say about her adventure!

  6. Yes, JEAN, how did you guess?! I would have been none the wiser except for the text. May be just as well. They got home 15 minutes ago. He's lost his voice screaming for her. Hrrumphh.

  8. For the first time ever, Ben bolted from the house one night after my date slammed a door in an exceptionally loud way in the midst of one of those hissy fits you don't even remember. It was dark, it was late, and I was sick about it so I got my tennies on and retraced our "basic" neighborhood walk.

Sure enough, I found Ben, smelling the roses, about 2 1/2 blocks away. The look I got from him -- "Well, thank heavens you finally caught up. I've been waiting here for ages."

P.S. My date was suitably contrite.

  10. This scares me so bad. My worst experience happened one day when the gate was left open. I went outside and Freedom, Casper and Nikki were ALL gone. I was mad with panic. Miraculously, I caught up with all three of them just down the street. Thankfully, they all stuck together. It was CRAZY and so scary. It truly was a miracle that I got all three of them back so quickly.

  11. MR BEN, FREEDOM, CASPER AND NIKKI -naughty dogs for giving your humans heart attacks! That's why I sometimes wish we lived in a place (like Asia or South America) where dogs wander at will. My greatest fear is Georgia getting run over. No car sense at all and why would she have any in our leashed society? Not sure how her homing device works either though we try our best to swop walking routes around.

ROSE, you can be sure I wasn't going potty in the park. I am quite shy ;)

  17. The Cushion lost Georgia and didn't call home?! Ooooooooo! That is a SERIOUS infraction. I hope that Georgia is okay. I'd have been livid!

  18. My mom would have freaked! Last summer, I followed my hound nose away, and Mom freaked. Hysterics. Dad found me.

We are so glad Ms. Georgia is okay. Poor Cushion.

:) All's well that ends well!

  19. Holy Carp! So glad Georgia wasn't lost for long, was it a leash malfunction? So scary!

  20. Thank goodness all ended well. Poor Cushion, we think he must have been scared too! That reminded mum of when our angel brother Oscar (a Great Dane) escaped our yard. Our sissy found him standing about 300 metres down the road, with four cars stopped around him but no one game enough to get out and move/help him. What they didn't realise was he was the biggest softy around and loved everybuddy! No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  21. MAGGIE AND DUKE - not a leash malfunction, a brain one.

STELLA AND RORY - What a hilarious scene it must have been, the 4 cars surrounding Oscar LOL. Glad he didn't get far.

  22. Wha? How did Georgia get lost without you knowing? That is certainly frightening! Luckily she was found quickly, also without you knowing! I guess that's all that matters.

  26. How did she escape?

Thank goodness for tags and even better, chips.
Milly has been done and if she legs it, which I hope she won’t, she’ll be returned to us and not a shelter.

  30. Well, that must have been so exciting Georgia!! But how is that "Cushion" of your's. A few extra grey hairs I would imagine, not to mention the elevated blood pressure. Poor "Cushion".
