A small stone contributed by Cushion, Australia Day 26th January.

I haven't left the house since last Friday. Yes! I'm being vain! but I do not want to step out with dried black scabs half hanging on to patchy shiny pink speckly brown skin.

Yesterday arvo, I complained to Cushion about how I was getting cabin fever and missing capoeira. This is what the man said to me.

"You should go! If I saw you on the bus, I wouldn't give you a second look."

A pregnant pause followed.

Our eyes locked over the kitchen counter.

I could see his face change as he suddenly realised [and regretted, no doubt] what he'd just said.

Being a kind person, I laughed! and responded with the only witty thing I could think of at that delicious moment.

"What?" I said.

HaPpStryliah DaY! :)

  2. Poor Cushion, I bet he will be very careful what he says for the next few days.

Good think you have a sense of humor

  3. Oh, wow. You know that shed in the backyard with the smart red door? Cushion should probably go there. And think awhile!

HAPPY STRYLIAH DAY! After 10 minutes ago, I realized the date - sometimes I'm a little slow, literally since you're a day ahead of me! - and signed on to write you a p.s. to our post today. But you beat me to it with your comment!

We really wish we there to help you celebrate! Have fun ... inside your house and in the backyard, when you let Cushion out so he can barbecue!

  5. He knew he was in trouble when I said it was worth a small stone.

Thank you CHANDRA! We're celebrating by sleeping, watching telly and googling Somewhere Else ;)

  6. Happy Stryliah Day, Georgia and the Typist! Cushion will have to do penance before he can have a happy Stryliah Day, methinks.

  10. Hahaha, out of the mouths of men!

It was HOT HOT HOT up here yesterday, had a pool BBQ, but it was still 31 degrees at 7pm.

I stayed inside where the aircon was blasting, with the environment receiving nil thought from me. :(

  14. I feel for Cushion, this will be remembered for years to come and taken advantages of, but too late, too late now ... If I could only say I have been smarter... I haven't. Thank God Cushion got only a "What?", could there be hope?

  17. Hi typist, how are you down there now?? The whole system only stayed here for that 48 hour battering of rain, and caused flooding north and south of here but the Ville missed out really. I cannot believe the havoc up and down the whole coast. Keep us updated on how you are fairing please?! Telecommunications is a disaster up here, no Eftpos at most shops, and the whole phone system is down and they say it might not be fixed until end of the week!!! I am in shock that I can get on the internet (so far) but I am with Optus for that and Telstra for the mobile (don't have a landline) Anyhow, just let me know how you're doing!

  18. Bwaaahahah!! Men say the funniest things. I bet Cushion was wishing he could catch that comment and reel it back in!

  19. Um, wow... You dealt with his faux pas much more articulately than I would have. Although, your answer was the easy way out for both of you. Has he at least made it up to you?

    Hope you enjoyed your holiday!
