It started raining on Friday night. It was so heavy and loud, it gave us all a fright.
When we woke up the next morning, it was still raining. To my surprise, I got to go for a walk.
"Oh, come on! Who goes out in this kind of weather?"
"Me. That's who."
It rained all day Saturday. It didn't stop.
Mr T had an evening walk as well. 
It was only 5 something but it was already dark. 
Poor Mr T. It's a wonder he didn't catch a cold.

ReplyDeleteWe seem to have used up our supply of air water this winter, the most rain in many years, but fortunately our April showers seem to have gone to April flowers.

I'm glad you didn't have any scary stories! The storm sounds like it was crazy in a few places. We live in Charleston, SC and were expecting to get hit pretty hard on Saturday afternoon, but it never really made it out to us. There was some wild wind though. I went to the Farmer's Market in the morning and there would be quick 30MPH wind gusts, tents flying everywhere!
ReplyDeleteMy raincoat used to belong to Mr Piglet. It has "Jordan" sewn (very badly) into it. My Typist wanted to sew my name next to Mr Piglet's, but my out-at-work human said no. It's okay. I don't mind.

Your rain got to us Sunday night and yesterday, Georgia:) We had a break in the rain yesterday afternoon and the kids got a walk in the sunshine. We will go out in the rain if we have to. Beryl has a raincoat too:)
ReplyDeleteOh, and she said to tell you the huge mattress is a double foam mattress I got for $5 at a garage sale:) One of my better buys. It's big enough for all 3 of us to lie on in front of the heater! For a while her creativity extended to digging a hole in the cover and pulling bits of foam out so I got another cover (from an op shop;) and she hasn't managed to dig through this one ... yet!
@GreyhoundsCANsit - is it my imagination or do all greyhounds have splendiforous wardrobes? (I am deducing this from Beryl and Bunny's accessories.)

Miss Georgia LP, I think you should have started singing in the rain. I hear that humans really like that! You look very smart in your jacket, and at least you didn't have to go out cold and naked like Mr. Thumper. I have a pink rain coat and I wear it with pride! I enjoy a good walk in the rain as long as it's not too cold or too rainy!

A pink raincoat *sigh* of course you have a pink raincoat, Bunny. To go with your pink nails and pink collar and leash. I feel so very drab all of a sudden, in my hand-me-down coat which is a bit too big for me and at least 6 seasons old.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia, we see no mud on your coat, or even your paws. Maybe if a truck had sped by and sprayed you and your nice coat with mud, we would feel like being a little more sympathetic. We are, however, glad you made it back home safely. It is a bummer about the shorter days in winter.

Dear JF&D - See how observant dogs are? Thank you for pointing out that there was no mud on me. Despite that, I got a hose down when I got home. [like I do every day now that it's wet outside.] Apparently I get mud sloshed up on my belly and toes. Hah. That's all I have to say. HAH!

I don't have a rain coat coz I'm not allowed to go walkie when it's raining. But I must say you do look good in your 'hand me down' rain coat, Georgia, even though it is 6 seasons old. On such a weather, I would love to just snuggle up in bed... and I saw you were yawning in one of the pic :)

Heavens above, man, are you a wuss or a dog? Making a fuss over a bit of rain. I jump in the river any chance I get. Mind you, I do get rheumaticks after, but a bit of water never hurt any dog worth his regular meals.

Not only a walk but a hosing off? You do have them well trained. The dogs here shake their coats on demand (and often without being told) but choose to do it between doors on the porch, where poor moi has no where to avoid the splatter.

@dogsmom - it must be a universal thing that dogs do...wait till they get to the doorway and then shake off the water! Still snowing where you are? Poor things. We really have no cause for complaint here. Yes, more aches and pains since it started cooling down and getting wet. Exercise helps a lot though :)
