The wettest April day in 10 years.

It started raining on Friday night. It was so heavy and loud, it gave us all a fright.
When we woke up the next morning, it was still raining. To my surprise, I got to go for a walk.

"Oh, come on! Who goes out in this kind of weather?"
"Me. That's who."

Mr T had an evening walk as well.

It was only 5 something but it was already dark.
Poor Mr T. It's a wonder he didn't catch a cold.
I do hope I have a happier story for you soon.

I couldn't resist making a quick post about this once-in-a-decade rain! Thanks everyone for your well wishes and advice :) xox

  1. Georgia, if you didn't get rain you wouldn't be able to show off your handsome coat.

See, there's a bright side to everything!

  2. Your rain gear is The Bomb.

We seem to have used up our supply of air water this winter, the most rain in many years, but fortunately our April showers seem to have gone to April flowers.

  3. Oh, no, now that's some Portland weather right there ... not good at all.

Um, in the second photo down, is GLP shooting laser beams from her eyes with RBT directing her aim in the background? If so, I don't know how ladylike that is, but it's effing cool!

  4. I'm glad you didn't have any scary stories! The storm sounds like it was crazy in a few places. We live in Charleston, SC and were expecting to get hit pretty hard on Saturday afternoon, but it never really made it out to us. There was some wild wind though. I went to the Farmer's Market in the morning and there would be quick 30MPH wind gusts, tents flying everywhere!

  5. My raincoat used to belong to Mr Piglet. It has "Jordan" sewn (very badly) into it. My Typist wanted to sew my name next to Mr Piglet's, but my out-at-work human said no. It's okay. I don't mind.

@Ms C - aren't my eyes too coooool? It's just the way the picture turned out. My Typist wouldn't have been smart enough to do stuff to make it look like that.

@Carly - we saw the t.o.r.n.a.d.o.e.s in the news! It was awfully scary! Good thing you're alright! Thanks for dropping by :)

  6. Your rain got to us Sunday night and yesterday, Georgia:) We had a break in the rain yesterday afternoon and the kids got a walk in the sunshine. We will go out in the rain if we have to. Beryl has a raincoat too:)

Oh, and she said to tell you the huge mattress is a double foam mattress I got for $5 at a garage sale:) One of my better buys. It's big enough for all 3 of us to lie on in front of the heater! For a while her creativity extended to digging a hole in the cover and pulling bits of foam out so I got another cover (from an op shop;) and she hasn't managed to dig through this one ... yet!

  7. @GreyhoundsCANsit - is it my imagination or do all greyhounds have splendiforous wardrobes? (I am deducing this from Beryl and Bunny's accessories.)

Re: The Mattress. You're not just a dog person, you're a dog fanatic! Do you have space for any *ahem* Furniture For Humans in your lounge?

And, on the subject of weather, a new earthquake in your area I hear? :(

  8. Miss Georgia LP, I think you should have started singing in the rain. I hear that humans really like that! You look very smart in your jacket, and at least you didn't have to go out cold and naked like Mr. Thumper. I have a pink rain coat and I wear it with pride! I enjoy a good walk in the rain as long as it's not too cold or too rainy!

  9. A pink raincoat *sigh* of course you have a pink raincoat, Bunny. To go with your pink nails and pink collar and leash. I feel so very drab all of a sudden, in my hand-me-down coat which is a bit too big for me and at least 6 seasons old.

  10. Georgia, we see no mud on your coat, or even your paws. Maybe if a truck had sped by and sprayed you and your nice coat with mud, we would feel like being a little more sympathetic. We are, however, glad you made it back home safely. It is a bummer about the shorter days in winter.
Did you know c.a.t.s. are terribly afraid of laser eyes? It's true.

  11. Dear JF&D - See how observant dogs are? Thank you for pointing out that there was no mud on me. Despite that, I got a hose down when I got home. [like I do every day now that it's wet outside.] Apparently I get mud sloshed up on my belly and toes. Hah. That's all I have to say. HAH!

Is it true about the c.a.t.s? Oh WOW!

  12. Sounds like Portland--still!! How's Mr. Thumper doing? He looks good!

  13. Dear Sage, Unfortunately, Mr T is not doing so well anymore :( Thanks for asking xox

  14. Gee how good are your parents taking you out in all that rain. Wish mine were that good. Didn't you get cold though Georgia? Love to Rufus please. Tara xoxox

  15. Oi Senhor Galo! :)

@Tara - I'm not sure good is the word I would use. Maybe more like st_ _ _d. I am SO cold all the time, Tara. I spend all day hunting down sunny spots or begging for a cuddle. I already got my jammies and blankie on at night. How 'bout YOU? Say hi to Sammie too mwah! xox

  16. I don't have a rain coat coz I'm not allowed to go walkie when it's raining. But I must say you do look good in your 'hand me down' rain coat, Georgia, even though it is 6 seasons old. On such a weather, I would love to just snuggle up in bed... and I saw you were yawning in one of the pic :)

  17. Heavens above, man, are you a wuss or a dog? Making a fuss over a bit of rain. I jump in the river any chance I get. Mind you, I do get rheumaticks after, but a bit of water never hurt any dog worth his regular meals.

  18. @Hero - NO walks when it rains? What if it rains for a whole week? Are you one of those snooty dogs with a home walkalator?

@Benno - you just made My Typist laugh again! I'm not a wuss, I'm A Lady.

  19. Not only a walk but a hosing off? You do have them well trained. The dogs here shake their coats on demand (and often without being told) but choose to do it between doors on the porch, where poor moi has no where to avoid the splatter.
Hoping your typist does not feel extra aches and pains with the dampness. If it makes you feel better we are predicted over 3 inches of snow today. Those Easter eggs will be hard to find this year.

  20. Hi Georgia,
I hope your Mom is better!

You look so lovely and comfortable on the bed!
    Love your eyes expression.
I hope that the rain stop tomorrow.

Beijos e abraços to you both.

  21. @dogsmom - it must be a universal thing that dogs do...wait till they get to the doorway and then shake off the water! Still snowing where you are? Poor things. We really have no cause for complaint here. Yes, more aches and pains since it started cooling down and getting wet. Exercise helps a lot though :)

@Sonia - ensolarado hoje! Eu sou muito feliz, e Georgia tamben :)

  22. We don't like the rain be we do love puddles and mud.
It's being thundering down here too.
That's a handsome coat you have there. V nice. We have 'coat envy'.
I can just imagine the smell of wet dog. Pooh.
