A small stone by Georgia Little Pea, Thursday 17th January.
I cowered in a corner but he found me. I tried to run up the stairs but he caught me. The blue noose around my neck was tight and unyielding. I shivered as I was led to The Corner. The hose unrolled. Cold water hit my hot belly and ran down my legs. "Mmm! Mmmph! Mmm!" I whined softly. I pressed my ears to my head and looked pitifully at the monster, but did he care? Water in my eyes! up my nose! gurgling in my mouth! ARRRRGGGHH! Suddenly he said, "Done! Shake Georgia!" He brought out a towel. I buried my head gratefully in the dry rough cotton." Do I get a peanut butter bikkie now?" I asked him.

Epilogue.
"You know guys, I would love to do my bit to help you save water. A simple plan comes to mind. How about giving me less baths? Once a year perhaps? For sure, it'll be terrible not having soft shiny fur that smells of oatmeal. But you know what? I'm ready and willing to make that sacrifice! for you! for our collective wallet! for the planet! Truly. Want to give it a go then?"
Less baths, what a perfect idea!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,

I watched this great video the other day on helping dogs like baths! Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8m5aFNoRL4
ReplyDeleteI am with you on this - I have to have a bath once a week for my allergies and trust me - I take FOREVER to dry!
ReplyDeleteMiss GLP, only you can make a bath sound like a kidnapping story :D
ReplyDeleteGeorgia! That is the perfect Small Stone! Don't tell the Typist, but I think you write even better small stones than she does. Good Dog!
ReplyDelete(and I think you are a very caring dog to be willing to sacrifice your baths for the sake of the planet).
Oh Georgia me Gizmo I feels your pain...my momz put da most hoomiliating picshure of me on my blog today...she had me wet in a !pink! towel for all the world to see...i tried hiding my face but it didn't work...she tempted me wif a cookie and i wuz weak...i gets bathed every two weeks and dat's just wrong
ReplyDeleteThank you LEEMA! But WHY would I want to enjoy my baths? They suck you know.
ReplyDeleteDear MS JEAN, I won't tell. She might get upset and jellus.
Georgia - your description of the water torture they're putting you through breaks my heart. Of course one bath a year is enough! Surely those liquid eyes can convince even the hardest of hearts.
ReplyDeleteWow Georgia, you had me scared there for a minute. Well, I am a slow reader so it was almost two minutes. You are such a drama queen. but I love you
ReplyDeleteBert
i get distracted easily..
ReplyDeleteurrmmm.. the 1/2 pic of the beautiful tummy... urmmm.. wouldn't "someone" be offended you posted that? *LOL*
i think Georgia writes better stones :D
MS OON, I think you just got The Typist into BIG trouble. She assured Cushion no one, NO ONE would notice. Better hide now.
DeleteI was going to say......that it couldn't have been "CUSHION" doing this AWFUL thing to you Ms Pea, hahaha but that IS CUSHIONS belly!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave and courageous dog!
NOOOOO! Please no more comments about the belly PLEASE! I want to live to see another day!
DeleteGeorgia...Look how generous you are! You are a good writer too. I felt like I was being tortured right along side of you.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia - so con of you to put the needs of the planet before your own. WHAT a gal!!
ReplyDeleteWe meant to write CONSCIENTIOUS. Stupid iPad doesn't like to make corrections.
ReplyDeletexoxoxoxoxo
it COULD be the Typist's belly.. BUT... not those shorts on the Typist.. *LOL* i think the belly makes a more interesting subject of interest in the picture.
ReplyDeletehow about a small stone on "someone's belly" *LOL*
ReplyDeleteGRRRRRRRRRRRRR...!!!!!
DeleteI loved the story, you are very talented.
ReplyDeleteThen the watery eyes in the picture, enhanced by the most gorgeous belly.
we totally understand since yesterday, we were both given a bath as well. At least you don't have to get your furs cut ever month like we do thats not fun at all!
ReplyDeleteyuki and rocket
Ms. Georgia:
ReplyDeleteLess baths!
Is the Monster aka the Cushion?
Love,
Tootsie
Oh we synpathise, we have too many baths and we have too much cold, rain, mud and ice and maybe even snow. Baths are not good, not good at all.
ReplyDeleteHow traumatic! I hope they agree to giving you less baths. Kelly is horrible about it, but Brooks is easy and agreeable...he stands perfectly still in the tub and lets me scrub and rinse. I wish there was a more pleasant way for you to get clean and sweet, Georgia.
ReplyDeleteSave the Planet! No baths for Georgia!
ReplyDeleteI know my dogs feel the same way about baths, but Misty is a total water dog when she sees a lake or an ocean. I guess there is a big difference between torture and fun.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Georgia, sorry I'm on my own today. Rory saw water, thought bath, and is now hiding under our bayleaf tree hehe. He hates baths too. Cold water sounds pretty good though with the heat we had yesterday. Take care sweetie pie. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteHey Rose, Ann and Verobirdie,
ReplyDeletethe Typist will tell you that one of my favourite phrases is "I'M A PROFESSIONAL" ever since the movie "Man on Fire". How else can I be the best Cushion for Georgia without a belly like that? I know a thing or two about self sacrifice too you know.
The Cushion
Hey hey, I just came back here to have a look and CUSHION has joined in!! YAY.
ReplyDeleteDid you sneak in? Do your girls know you've been?
Is this your debut as a commenter?!
TYPIST!!? Cushion's been here talking on your blog......
Will you believe ROSE, I was working on my Medium Stone when he calls out from the lounge that he can't comment on the blog. Because it's now only Refistered Users, right. So I tell him, you'll have to send me an email and I'll post it for you. And he did! You think he feels strongly about some of the comments here? ;)
Deletebwahahaha, tell him to get registered, it could open up a whole new dimension to your already terrific blog!! Limit him to say one comment a month!! hahaha
ReplyDeleteLOL! I suspect Daisy, Jasper and Cupcake would like to join Georgia on the water conservation plan. They hate baths too. The sad-eyed looks they give me are almost more than I can bear. Poor Georgia.
